Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in July

Export of coconut oil in July consisted of 24,897 MT crude coconut oil, 17,124 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 4,804 MT RBD (refined, bleached, deodorized) oil, the combined value being USD48.060 million. The US was this month’s top importer, responsible for more than half (53.4%) of total with purchases of 25,006 MT, the aggregate of the three oil types. Shipment to Europe was 8,725 MT (18.6%), trailed by Malaysia 5,124 MT (10.9%), China 3,653 MT (7.8%), Japan 3,473 MT (7.4%).  The rest had market shares of  less than 1%.

The US was leading buyer of crude coconut oil during the month at 11,001 MT, followed by Europe at 8,024 MT (Italy 8,000, Czech Republic 24 MT), Malaysia 5,000 MT, China 855 MT, Pakistan 17 MT. The US was almost an exclusive destination for cochin oil at 13,346 MT.  Other outlets were Japan 3,473 MT, Bangladesh 123 MT, Europe 120 MT (Belgium 60, Netherlands 46, France 14), South Korea 41 MT, Sri Lanka 22 MT.

On the other hand, China took the lead in RBD oil at 2,798 MT, followed by the US at 658 MT, Europe at 581 MT (Germany 250, Netherlands 232, Hungary 42, Slovakia 34, Greece 24),  Canada 167 MT, Taiwan 151 MT, Pakistan 148 MT, Malaysia 124 MT, Vietnam 34 MT, Egypt 33 MT, Argentina 27 MT, Dominican Republic 19 MT, Mexico 18 MT, South Korea 17 MT, Lebanon 16 MT, Hong Kong 9 MT, Thailand 2 MT, Singapore 1 MT.
