Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in October 2022

Export of coconut oil in October consisted of 84,201 MT crude coconut oil, 6,862 MT cochin (refined, bleached) coconut oil, and 18,707 MT RBD (refined, bleached, deodorized or fully refined) coconut oil. The export mix turned in USD130.306 million in foreign exchange.
Europe remained a leading destination with total during the month at 70,590 MT representing nearly two-thirds (64.3%), trailed by the US at 16,630 MT, Malaysia 8,597 MT, China 8,424 MT, Japan 2,722 MT, and South Korea 2,003 MT, which comprised the top six outlets.  
Export to Europe was largely crude coconut oil with total at 65,700 MT (Netherlands 53,200, Italy 8,000, Spain 4,500), making it market leader. Other crude coconut oil importers were the US at 10,000 MT and Malaysia at 8,500 MT.  On the other hand, the US led in cochin oil with uptake at 4,112 MT, followed by Japan at 2,650 MT.  Smaller loads went to Europe at 49 MT (Hungary 25, Bulgaria 23), South Africa 23 MT, Australia 19 MT, Colombia 4 MT, Israel 3 MT, China 2 MT.
RBD coconut oil has China as its primary market. For the month of October, total purchases at 8,422 MT accounted for 45.0%.  Trailing behind were Europe at 4,841 MT (Greece 2,500, Netherlands 2,141, Belgium 112, Spain 25, Hungary 24, Germany 20, United Kingdom 19), the US 2,518 MT, South Korea 2,003 MT.   Smaller loads went to Bangladesh 199 MT, Pakistan 153 MT, Taiwan 141 MT, Malaysia 97 MT, Japan 72 MT, Vietnam 60 MT, Canada 58 MT, Brazil 48 MT, Ecuador 25 MT, Hong Kong 22 MT, United Arab Emirates 19 MT, New Zealand 19 MT, Singapore 11 MT.
