Performance of Philippine Top Non-Traditional Coconut Products Exports in September (Part 2)

The following shows details of the next nine non-traditional coconut products exports in September (ranked 11th-19th) namely Coconut Meat Chips, Virgin Coconut Oil, Nata de Coco, Coco Acid Oil, Young Coconut (dried meat in strips, sliced or shredded), Coco Flour, Coco Peat/Dust, Makapuno, Coir Products. 
COCONUT MEAT CHIPS reported turnover of USD618,034 from sale of 204 MT (no export year-ago). There were only three destinations recorded led by the USA at 140 MT (68.7%), trailed by Vietnam at 38 MT (18.8%) and South Korea at 26 MT (12.5%).
VIRGIN COCONUT OIL generated USD531,879 from orders of 209 MT.  The USA was market leader capturing 81 MT (38.9%), followed by Brazil at 39 MT (18.5%), Canada at 24 MT (11.7%), Slovenia at 19 MT (9.3%), China at 19 MT (9.3%), Indonesia 16 MT (7.7%), Malaysia 8 MT (3.8%) and Singapore 2 MT.
NATA DE COCO earned USD358,266 from deliveries of 326 MT, a slight rise by 3.8% from 314 MT of the previous year. Japan remained the top buyer at 164 MT (50.3%), tracked by the USA at 73 MT (22.4%), Canada at 43 MT (13.1%), Netherlands at 22 MT (6.7%), Hong Kong 10 MT, United Kingdom 7 MT, Israel 3 MT and United Arab Emirate and New Zealand at 2 MT apiece.
COCONUT ACID OIL shipment of 405 MT valued at USD270,131 went solely to China.  The prior year’s total export of this product was lesser at 305 MT. 
YOUNG COCONUT (dried meat in strips, sliced or shredded) logged income of USD258,911 from overseas purchases of 74 MT.  The volume pruned last year’s 224 MT by 66.9%.  The USA was principal market at 52 MT (70.6%).  Other markets were Japan at 8 MT (10.4%), Germany at 5 MT (6.7%), New Zealand 4 MT (5.2%), Canada 3 MT, Netherlands and South Korea at 1 MT apiece, and Australia at 0.3 MT.
COCO FLOUR registered receipts of USD180,356.  Total volume sold at 187 MT grew 10.1% from 169 MT year-ago.  The top three markets were Taiwan at 64 MT (34.5%), trailed by Argentina at 51 MT (27.1%), USA 48 MT (25.6%).  Other markets were Malaysia at 17 MT (9.4%), Japan at 6 MT and Peru 0.7 MT.
International trade of COCO PEAT/DUST of 3,355 MT fell 10.8% from last year at 3,761 MT but was worth USD179,002.  All shipment went to China.
MAKAPUNO export at 92 MT posted proceeds of USD171,650.  Traded volume jumped 66.7% from prior year at 55 MT. North America remained key markets with the USA responsible for 51.9% or 48 MT and Canada 20.7% or 19 MT.  Other markets were United Arab Emirates at 17 MT (18.6%), and four others with much smaller uptake namely, Australia at 4 MT, Tawain 4 MT, and Bahrain and Israel which jointly held 0.5 MT. 
COIR PRODUCTS turned in USD104,910 from shipment of 761MT, dropping by 27.2% from year-ago at 1,046 MT.  China was the exclusive buyer during the month.
