Exports of Desiccated Coconut of Major Producing Countries Up in 2024

Collated country data from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka revealed the combined exports of the three major country producers-exporters of desiccated coconut reached 446,811 MT in 2024, increasing by 8.0% from 307,931 MT in the previous year.  The total value at USD570.513 million increased more steeply 27.7% from USD446.811 million driven by high volume and traded prices.
The Philippines was the leading exporter accounting for more than one-half of the total or 52.1% in 2024, an improvement from 50.7% share in the previous year.  In absolute value, export from the Philippines was 173,171 MT, a climb by 10.8% from prior year at 156,274 MT.  
Indonesia’s export at 119,229 MT rose modestly by 4.9% from 113,668 MT and represented 35.8%, a marginal drop from 36.9% previously. Sri Lanka shipped out 40,250 MT, a hike from year-ago at 37,989 MT by 6.0%.  Market shares though at 12.1% barely moved from 12.3% a year ago.
